Oakland House Party

In the evening of September 21, Warren and Danielle Forrestier hosted a house Party in Oakland , California . They invited their American friends in the excitement of Burma.

The party was mainly to acknowledge the political situation in Burma politically and to share the culture of Burma . There were about 40 guests, and members of BAWA EC members: Myat, Decem, Kalyar, Nandi and BADA president U Nyaunt Than as a special guest speaker attended. U Sein Htun also came over to give us his support as well. Danielle had prepared Burmese dinner with the help of her Burmese refugee family.

The evening started out with wine and dinner, followed by Burmese Dance by Kalyar and Nandi, and a slideshow about Burma, narrated by U Nyaung Than. We ended the evening with another Burmese Dance. The guests enjoyed the Burmese foods and dances as much as they are interested in the situation in Burma .

Danielle informed BAWA that after that evening, she got so many emails who are interested in helping the Burmese monks, helping the Cyclone victims. They all want to know what they can do to help Burma in general.

All in all, it was a successful evening. BAWA would like to thank our wonderful hosts Danielle and Warren, U Nyaunt Than for a great informative slideshow and Kalyar and Nandi for beautiful Burmese performances. It really captured the hearts of all the guests in that evening.
